Long Beach’s Breakers Hotel Turns Its Past Into the Main Attraction
The restored landmark is offering themed stays, cocktails and tours that turn aviation and Hollywood moments into bookable guest experiences.
To mark its centennial this September, Fairmont Breakers Long Beach introduced themed Centennial Suites inspired by the property's aviation and Hollywood history.
Originally opened in 1926 as the Breakers Hotel, the landmark recently completed an extensive renovation, with architecture still anchoring the downtown Long Beach skyline nearly a century later.
The Lindbergh Experience honors pilot Charles Lindbergh's 1928 arrival, while The Violet Hour draws inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor's 1950 honeymoon, with both packages running through year-end.
Maureen Leary, director of sales and marketing, said the hotel aims to transform historical moments into guest experiences, while visitors can also explore the revived Sky Room and rooftop bar HALO.
A third themed suite inspired by Rita Hayworth is expected to debut later this year as the hotel moves closer to its official centennial celebration.
