Justice advocate David Milgaard, once wrongfully convicted of murder, has died

David Milgaard, who spent 23 years in prison for a murder he did not commit has died. Milgaard died at age 69 after being admitted to a Calgary hospital on Saturday night. At just 17 years of age, Milgaard was convicted in 1970 of murdering a Saskatoon nursing assistant. He was released from prison in April 1992 after federal Justice Minister Kim Campbell asked the Supreme Court to review new evidence.
