Iowa asks state court to allow 'fetal heartbeat' abortion law to go into effect

Summary by Ground News
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is formally asking a state court to reinstate a law banning abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy. The law was permanently blocked by a court injunction in 2019 and has never gone into effect. Reynolds' lawyers are now asking a Polk County judge to lift that injunction and allow the law to take effect immediately.
