In the Vatican, the 133 "Cardinal Electors" met from Wednesday, May 7, to choose the next head of the Church. Among them were five Frenchmen, including the Archbishop of Marseilles Jean-Marc Aveline, 66 years old, whose name was quoted among the cardinals who were supposed to become popes.
