I'm A Celeb announces major rule change for campmates days before show starts
Contestants on I'm A Celebrity will be limited to two consecutive Bushtucker Trials to allow more celebrities to participate and gain airtime, based on viewer and participant feedback.
- Producers announced a major rule change for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, with Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly returning to host the 25th series starting November 16 featuring ten celebrities in the Australian jungle.
- Hosts and insiders said last year the British public repeatedly voted Dean McCullough into seven consecutive trials, causing viewer boredom and limiting other contestants' airtime.
- Under the new rule, contestants cannot do more than two Bushtucker Trials in a row and viewers cannot vote for the same person for a third consecutive day before the voting system resets.
- Producers say the tweak will allow different celebrities to get airtime, and insiders hope it will make the 25th series the most memorable yet this year.
- Confirmed cast includes Lisa Riley, Morgan Burtwistle , Shona McGarty, Ruby Wax, Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne, and the 95-minute launch airs on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
