- Hezbollah denied the claims, while the Israel Defense Forces said investigations into the killings were never completed.
- The disclosure places the cases in a wider pattern, joining assassinations of Rafik Hariri and Elias al-Hajj, while the August 2020 Beirut port explosion killed more than 200 people.
