In the future, there will be a centre of competence for drones at Kassel Airport. The opening is scheduled for 2026. The scientific expertise for this is from Hesse.
The State of Hesse and the Technical University of Darmstadt are setting up a drone competence centre at Kassel Airport. The project is intended to bundle research, testing and application of unmanned aviation systems – and give the deficit-free regional airport a new strategic perspective.
