- The series is set at a fictional summer camp where Pamela, overwhelmed by grief after her son Jason's childhood drowning, seeks vengeance by targeting the camp counselors.
- The show focuses on Pamela's life prior to the original 1980 film and includes recurring characters such as Ralph 'Crazy Ralph,' Barry, and Claudette, with a supporting cast featuring Nick Cordileone, Phoenix Parnevik, and Danielle Kotch.
- In August 2024, Brad Caleb Kane assumed the roles of showrunner, writer, and executive producer for Crystal Lake , while Victor Miller and several others continued their executive producer duties; plot details remain undisclosed.
- Crystal Lake does not have a confirmed release date on Peacock but its arrival is anticipated later this year or possibly next year, expanding the franchise's universe by exploring iconic characters' backstories.
