Attleboro firefighters rescue swan trapped in fishing line

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Firefighters helped rescue an entangled swan from an Attleboro pond Wednesday morning. Crews were called to Cranberry Pond near Leedham Street just before 9 a.m. for reports of an animal in distress. The swan was about 100 feet from shore with its wings and body wrapped in fishing line. While the bird resisted firefighters' efforts, it was eventually freed and quickly swam away.
