Fire at Peoria church attributed to work being done to building’s roof

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Repair work to the roof of a Peoria church led to an accidental fire that damaged the structure, according to the Peoria Fire Department. Just before 6:30 p.m., firefighters were called to Ignite Church, 3707 N. Dayton Ave., on a report of smoke in the area. That's near Emo's and Reservoir Gifted Academy.
