Two federal immigration agents fired approximately 10 shots during a confrontation linked to Operation Metro Surge, sparking protests and calls for transparent investigation.
- ProPublica published government records showing Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez fired on and fatally shot Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care unit nurse, on Jan. 24.
