Esquimalt looking to end police agreement

Summary by Ground News
Esquimalt council has voted not to renew the 10-year Police Framework Agreement that governs policing in Victoria and Esquimalt. The agreement has been contentious ever since the province forced the merger of the two municipalities in 2002. The township believes a new service delivery model can be chosen and provided to the province for approval before the existing agreement expires in 2023.
