Segesta captured the Grade 1, $300,000 Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar on Sunday, giving trainer Chad Brown his seventh victory in the last nine runnings of the race.The Juddmonte homebred, a 4-year-old daughter of champion Ghostzapper, tracked the pace under Flavien Prat before accelerating in the stretch and drawing off to a 2 1/4-length victory.
