Apple, Google host dozens of AI ‘nudify’ apps like Grok, report finds

Tech Transparency Project published a report Tuesday finding 55 AI 'nudify' apps on Google Play and 47 on the Apple App Store, all available as of Jan. 21.
Amid easier AI tools, app developers have monetized nudifying features as newer AI models simplify creating deepfake nudes while Apple and Google profit from app revenue cuts despite enforcement gaps.
TTP tested apps using AI-generated clothed images and found many complied with nudify or face-swap prompts, with several apps carrying age ratings of 4+, 9+, or 13+.
