Nigeria: Dangote Refinery to Supply 1.5bn Litres of Petrol Monthly
The refinery plans to supply 1.5 billion litres of petrol monthly in December and January, increasing to 1.7 billion litres in February to maintain fuel availability.
- Starting November 30, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will supply 50 million litres of PMS daily to Nigeria, totaling 1.5 billion litres this month, the company announced.
- The company says the supply aims to ensure uninterrupted nationwide fuel availability through the festive season and support national wellbeing, while Dangote says the planned 50 million litres daily should dispel claims domestic refineries lack capacity.
- David Bird, Managing Director, Dangote Petroleum Refinery, offered to host Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority officials onsite from December 1 to verify volumes and requested support for imports and vessel operators.
- The refinery is working with petroleum marketers to strengthen distribution and expand CNG-powered haulage, while progressing an expansion to 1.4 million barrels per day involving more than 100,000 workers.
- SSDC officials said the Dangote Petroleum Refinery plans to increase daily supply to about 60 million litres in the coming months, viewing the region as Nigeria's energy corridor.
