The Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) announced on Saturday, July 19, its decision to expel six Assembly members from the Pachakutik movement. Legislators were dismissed for repeatedly supporting legislative initiatives presented by the national government, actions that CONAIE considers to be contrary to the political and ideological commitments of the movement.
