State Can’t Complete Comeback, Swept in Super Regional
Georgia rallied past Mississippi State 11-9 in 10 innings after Daniel Jackson hit his 31st homer, sending the Bulldogs to the Men’s College World Series.
On Sunday, Georgia swept the Athens Super Regional, defeating Mississippi State to advance to the Men's College World Series for the first time since 2008.
Mississippi State finished its season at 43-19 after winning the Starkville Regional in dominant fashion, including a 19-5 rout of Louisiana in the championship game.
Rallying from a five-run deficit, Georgia launched home runs from Kolby Branch, Ace Reese, and Noah Sullivan in a series defined by intense offensive play.
Georgia will advance to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, for the tournament, which begins June 12.
