Lapeer, N.Y. - A man is facing burglary, animal cruelty and sexual misconduct charges after deputies say he was caught breaking into a barn where he had “inappropriate contact” with animals on multiple occasions in Cortland County. Deputies were called to a farm in the Town of Lapeer just after 10 a.m. Monday to investigate a report of a suspicious person, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
