Census 2021 shows massive spike in Wiltshire's older population

Wiltshire's population has grown by almost 40,000 people in the last decade. Results of the 2021 census show that the population has gone up by 8.4 per cent, from around 471,000 in 2011 to 510,400 in 2021. This is higher than the overall increase for England (6.6 per cent), where the population grew by nearly 3.5 million to 56,489,800. The older population size in Wiltshire has also grown, growing by 30.5 per cent in people over the age of 65.
