Calgary Wild FC ownership changes, Alyssa Mitchell buys majority stake
Mitchell joins 36 investors in a club where women hold a 76% stake and will represent Calgary Wild at Northern Super League meetings.
On Tuesday, American-based entrepreneur Alyssa Mitchell acquired a 41 per cent stake in the Northern Super League's Calgary Wild, becoming the majority owner of Alberta's only professional women's soccer team.
Mitchell joined an ownership group of 36 investors, including co-founder and chief executive officer Lara Murphy and board chair Deanna Zumwalt, reflecting the club's collective investment model.
A University of Tennessee graduate and founder of clothing brand DDAM, Mitchell said the club represents 'opportunity, resilience, ambition, and community' in a 'powerful sport movement.'
Mitchell will serve as the club's director at NSL meetings, with board chair Zumwalt noting she "adds another strong female leader to our ownership group."
Female investors now hold a 76 per cent stake in the club, which averaged just under 4,000 fans per game at McMahon Stadium during its 2025 inaugural season.
