The new military service is coming! The Bundestag has approved the law. For young men there is a questionnaire and a mandatory pattern.
From 1 January the new military service is to come in Germany. For young men then the duty to information and pattern applies, but further voluntary service. There are also criticisms and protests.
The Bundestag passed new rules for conscription into the army. From next year, recruitment surveys of 18-year-old Germans will begin. The service is to be based on a voluntary basis, but if the number of volunteers is too low, a draw may be introduced. The new rules will apply from 2026.
