- Participating in a traditional 'halwa' ceremony, Sitharaman and officials entered a preparatory lock-in at North Block, Raisina Hill, where the ritual was held despite the ministry's move to Kartavya Bhawan.
- All Budget documents will be released paperlessly via the Union Budget Mobile App and website for MPs and the public, continuing the paperless delivery of the past five full Budgets and one interim.
- Sitharaman was joined by Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary and secretaries at the halwa ceremony, a gesture of appreciation for the Budget team’s efforts.
- With digitalisation, the lock-in period has been shortened to five days from up to two weeks, replacing printing staff quarantines at the printing press in North Block basement used for 40 years.
