Bob Carr calls for Unesco to recognise ‘urgency of threat’ facing world heritage-listed Blue Mountains

Summary by Ground News
Former NSW premier Bob Carr has written to Unesco urging it to send a mission to the Blue Mountains to assess its world heritage status. Carr said the area had been badly affected by the 2019-20 bushfires and parts would be flooded if the Warragamba Dam wall was raised. The letter is dated 14 July, two days before the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) world heritage committee began a two-week meeting.
