- Also announced as finalists were Robert Kraft, owner, chairman and CEO of the New England Patriots since 1994, and Bill Belichick, coach, raising concerns some selectors might favor Kraft, risking Belichick's 80% approval.
- The Class of 2026 will be announced the week of Super Bowl 60, with modern-era finalists revealed later in December, as the second year of the system and the Selection Committee's annual meeting is scheduled for next year.
