Atalanta sack coach Juric after poor start to season
- On Monday, Atalanta relieved Ivan Juric of his duties after a seven-match winless streak left the Bergamo club in 13th place, also dismissing his closest staff, the club announced.
- Having succeeded Gasperini in June, Juric failed to match last season's form as the side drew five straight Serie A games, a run not seen since 2011.
- Juric's final game was a 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday, Atalanta's first Serie A home loss by three goals or more since December 2021, and in the Champions League they hold two wins, one draw and one loss.
- The sacking adds to Serie A's coaching turnover this season, with former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino tipped to replace Juric before the trip to Napoli on November 22.
- Atalanta sit well off the pace, trailing Inter Milan and Roma by 11 points after consecutive losses that followed five straight draws, while Ivan Juric failed to last through a third of the Serie A season.
