Alberta's Unemployment Rate in October Was 7.8%, Unchanged From the Previous Month

Statistics Canada's latest labor market report, released on November 7, showed that 67,000 jobs were added across the country in October, and the unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 6.9%. Alberta saw slight increases in both employment and the labor force, but the unemployment rate remained at 7.8%. Edmonton and Calgary had unemployment rates of 8.6% and 7.9% respectively, both slightly lower than in September.
