The airline Air Europa has denied having paid Begoña Gómez , wife of the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, for any activity related to the granting of the subsidy that he received during the pandemic, and has assured that "at no time" he was asked "intermediation or management of any kind" for the administrative procedure.
Air Europa has responded to claims made by former ministerial advisor Koldo García and categorically denied that Begoña Gómez, wife of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, played any role in the processing of the public bailout granted to the company during the pandemic. The airline maintains that Gómez was "never" asked to "intervene or manage" anything in the administrative procedure that culminated in the granting of the SEPI loans in 2020.
