AI firm Neysa to raise $1.2 billion from Blackstone, others in debt-equity mix

Blackstone's investment will fund Neysa's deployment of over 20,000 GPUs to support AI development for enterprises and government clients amid rising demand, the firm said.

  • Blackstone, a U.S. private equity firm, agreed to lead up to $600 million of primary equity into Neysa, which plans to raise about $600 million in debt, creating a roughly $1.2 billion package.
  • Regulated industries in India are seeking local compute, driven by government demand and global supply pressures, prompting investment in domestic AI infrastructure, Neysa said.
  • The startup currently operates about 1,200 GPUs and targets more than 20,000 deployments as demand grows; Blackstone estimates India has fewer than 60,000 GPUs, scaling nearly 30 times in coming years.
  • The bulk of the capital will fund large-scale GPU clusters and R&D, positioning Neysa to advance AI infrastructure in India and aim to more than triple revenue next year.
  • The deal highlights competition with hyperscalers and a push for sovereign compute, as Blackstone builds on its global AI infrastructure investments including QTS, AirTrunk, CoreWeave and Firmus.
