Civil Servants in Jakarta Who Don't Use Public Transport are Barred from Getting Promotion, Says Its Governor - WORLD OF BUZZ

Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta has enforced a new initiative since 30 April 2025 to reduce its infamous traffic congestion and air pollution: Requiring all civil servants to take public transport every Wednesday.  Accordingly, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has issued a reminder to civil servants within the Jakarta Provincial Government about the policy, warning that non-compliance would mean they will be barred from getting a promotion.   …

The Jakarta Provincial Government ensures that the strict selection of public transportation drivers does not only apply to the Jaklingko mode. Because, the safety of passengers and other road users is the main priority.
