After the rain, heat descends on flooded Kentucky towns

As of yesterday, 37 Kentuckians have been confirmed dead and many more remain missing. Floyd and Pike counties are now included among those eligible for FEMA assistance. Kentucky Power said approximately 23,000 customers lost power due to the storms. As of today, Wednesday, Aug. 3, the company says power has been restored for around 78% of those customers.
