- According to reports, LaBeouf had been in town since Thursday for Mardi Gras on a nearly week-long bar crawl, appearing shirtless, `inebriated` and trying to act as a `celebrity bartender` at French Quarter bars.
- Police were called around 12:45 a.m. after a staff member tried to eject LaBeouf from a Royal Street business; he allegedly struck one victim several times, returned aggressively, hit another in the nose, and was held until police arrived, while paramedics treated him before hospital transfer.
- Louisiana law allows penalties of up to $1,000 or six months for simple battery, and the arrest adds to LaBeouf's long public history of legal troubles after hospital treatment, police said.
- LaBeouf has previously spoken about his sobriety and recovery, revealing 627 days abstinent as of December 2025, and his representatives have not responded to comment requests.
