ACM chairman Antony Catalano steps down after assault charges

Saturday, March 14, 2026, Antony Catalano stepped down as ACM chairman after facing assault and threats charges in Melbourne.
According to the police informant, the police allege the woman was dragged to a laundry area where Catalano grabbed a clothes iron and held it toward her head.
CCTV footage shown in court captured the episode and Jason Gullaci, SC conceded there was no doubt Catalano made physical contact while the woman was hospitalised with a fractured coccyx.
The boards of 20 Cashews Pty Ltd and View Media Group placed Catalano on immediate leave, and Magistrate Rohan Lawrence granted bail on Friday, setting the case for May 11.
Records show a prior, uncharged headbutting allegation from 2018 and recent psychiatric admission last month at his Byron Bay waterfront residence, after drug use.
