At a plenary session on the 14th, the Nanjyo City Council in Okinawa Prefecture rejected a motion of no confidence against Mayor Kageharu Kosha, whose actions were found to have been sexual harassment by a third-party committee. This is the second such motion to be rejected since June.
The vote for the recall of DPP Nantou County Councillor Chen Yu-ling was voted and counted today. The Central Election Commission stated that the number of votes in favor of the recall was 12,160, and the number of votes against was 5,867. [Nanjo] The Nanjo City Council (chaired by Nakamura Naoya) will hold an extraordinary session on the 14th to vote on a motion of no confidence against Mayor Kosha Kageharu over sexual harassment allegations against him. The motion will be jointly proposed by seven members of the opposition, neutral parties and some independents. A motion of no confidence against Kosha was proposed in March last year and in June this year, but both were rejected.
