At least 6 dead in apparent tornadoes in Michigan and Oklahoma
Six people died as tornadoes struck southern Michigan and northwestern Oklahoma, damaging homes and causing power outages amid a rare early-March severe weather outbreak.

- Michigan officials activated the state Emergency Operations Center to coordinate relief and ordered damage assessments, while the National Weather Service planned damage-survey teams to confirm tornadoes and Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt offered condolences and urged prayers for victims.
- Forecasters warned that severe thunderstorms and tornado risk would continue into Friday evening, with the National Weather Service urging weather radio and shelter plans near the start of tornado season.
