Security forces demolished the Pulwama home of Dr Umar Nabi, accused in the Delhi Red Fort blast that killed 12, as part of efforts to dismantle the terror network, officials said.
- During the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, security forces demolished the house of Dr Umar U. Nabi at Quil village, Pulwama district, using an explosion after evacuating family members.
- Police say Umar was linked to the Red Fort blast and is accused of driving the explosive-laden Hyundai i20, while investigators describe him as a key member of a 'white collar' terror module busted earlier this week.
- Police said DNA tests confirmed Dr Umar U. Nabi drove the Hyundai i20, and explosives recovered from the house will be examined by forensic teams.
- Police detained Shamima Banoo, Umar's mother, and both brothers for questioning as South Kashmir was placed on high alert with J&K Police, UP Police, Haryana Police, and intelligence agencies probing.
- The Union Cabinet declared the blast a 'terror' incident, the Cabinet Committee on Security including Home Minister Amit Shah convened to review, and a forensic audit of Al Falah University was ordered amid arrests of medical professionals.
