World leaders pledge to protect nature. The U.S., Brazil and Australia aren’t among them.

Summary
A million species of plants and animals including Asian elephants, orangutans and blue whales are now at risk of extinction, according to the United Nations. Last month, 70 world leaders signed the “Leaders Pledge for Nature” and vowed to take steps to halt the catastrophic human-made decline.
