Twenty-seven brown bears were shot this year in the districts of Banská Bystrica, Liptovský Mikuláš, Detva, Kežmarok and Zvolen. These were mostly problem bears that moved near people and threatened them.
Since the beginning of this year, 27 brown bears have been shot in Slovakia on the basis of government permits, posing a threat to human life and health.
