A man working as a security guard for Rep. Jasmine Crockett was shot by Dallas SWAT after a standoff where he pointed a gun at officers, police said.
- On Wednesday night, a man known publicly as Mike King who worked on U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett's security team was shot dead by Dallas police after barricading himself in a vehicle in a hospital parking garage during a standoff.
- Wanted on an outstanding warrant for impersonation, he was linked to Off Duty Police Services and received payments for security from Crockett's office as recently as last year.
- Law enforcement sources say he used multiple aliases while running an off-duty officer placement business, drove a replica undercover police vehicle with stolen license plates, and supervised security teams at downtown Dallas hotels and his church.
- Both the Dallas Police Department and Crockett's office have declined to comment as officials released limited details, Dallas police said no officers were injured and Dallas SWAT medics rendered aid at the scene.
- Authorities have not released his real name while images show him standing close to Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas at events, and sources say his alleged criminal history raises vetting questions.
