A portion of southbound Interstate 25 in north Colorado Springs remains closed Friday morning due to a semi-fire, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

UPDATE: FRIDAY 5/17/2024 7:20 a.m. (COLORADO SPRINGS) — The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) said its fire crews responded to the semi-truck fire with two fire engines and a rescue truck at around 5:13 a.m. USAFA said the cab of the semi-truck was fully engulfed in flames and had the fire extinguished by 5:33 a.m. The driver of the truck was already safely out of the truck at the time of the firefighters' arrival.
