Firefighters work to extinguish vacant south St. Louis house fire

ST. LOUIS -- Firefighters have been called to the 4500 block of Newport Avenue in south St. Louis to put out a house fire. The structure appears to be unoccupied and there is heavy damage to the building. It is not clear what started the fire. This is a developing story.
